Who We Are

We started Respect My Stuff because as parents, professionals and volunteers, we are each deeply committed to children of all abilities and backgrounds getting the best start. We have seen how simple gestures can lift a child's spirits during vulnerable times. We believe that every child deserves belongings to call their own, and reminders that someone cares.

Michelle Woolf - Co-Founder & Trustee

Michelle and Andy are adoptive parents and know only too well that when their children came to live with them it was heart-wrenching to see them arrive with treasured possessions in black bin liners. Although that was some time ago the memory has stayed long with Michelle who has been the catalyst behind Respect My Stuff. A secondary school teacher by vocation Michelle lived in the USA for 14 years where she was the inspirational local Director for a Special Olympics program. A program that began with 4 swimmers and grew under her leadership to cater for over 60 athletes with intellectual disabilities.

Andy Woolf – Co-Founder & Trustee

Until the end of 2017 Andy was the CEO of a US healthcare marketing company before taking early retirement.  That business experience is particularly helpful to Respect My Stuff in navigating a path through governance and our dealings with the local business community.  A certified Special Olympics coach in multi sports he too was committed to helping children and young adults with an intellectual disability seek to reach their sports potential.

Rachel Abbott - Trustee

Rachel is a primary school teacher with over 10 years experience working with young children of all backgrounds.Rachel has brought huge value to Respect My Stuff ensuring that for the younger children in particular coming into care we were focussed on their particular needs. Rachel is also a mother of two young children so understands the value that showing children you care can bring.

Lewis Abbott - Trustee

Lewis has a passion for operational excellence and throughout his career has developed many operating procedures from scratch for different companies.  This has delivered tremendous economies to Respect My Stuff and ensured that every pound donated is used in the optimum way.  Lewis  has also been involved in Special Olympics as a coach of both Basketball and Football.

Rick Wilson - Trustee

Rick is the Managing Partner for a large Midlands accountancy firm and brings to Respect My Stuff that keen eye for detail delivered by 35 years of professional experience.  A father of two grown up children Rick, and his wife Dee, both serve as advisors and trustees to several unconnected charities and thus bring a wealth of oversight experience.

We are continuously indebted to the team at Doncaster Children’s Services Trust for their suggestions and input. In particular, several of the Young Advisors from the Children In Care Council have inspired us to work harder to try and make Respect My Stuff to be the success it needs to be. Although the two organisations remain completely independent it is the Young Advisors who have helped with the name, branding and mission of what we seek to do.
