When we started Respect My Stuff, our mission was clear, to try and ensure that no child comes into care with their possessions in a bin liner! Over the years we have been able to support children in Doncaster. However, due to a change in personal circumstances for our trustees, in its current form, Respect My Stuff has now closed.
The mission continues though and we are pleased to announce that the assets of Respect My Stuff have been transferred to another charity, National Youth Advocacy Service (NYAS), who have a similar mission through their My Things Matter campaign. This organisation has a national reach with councils up and down the UK and will impact the lives of children in a much wider way than Respect My Stuff ever could. Working closely with NYAS we have ensured that the assets were transferred during the Big Give Christmas Challenge which has allowed us to double the value of the donation we have been able to make. Thank you to everyone who has supported Respect My Stuff and my fellow trustees for all the hard work. However, the biggest thank you is reserved for the young people in care who provided the idea, the concept and the inspiration. Please continue to support this mission through NYAS.
